Barkingside completes the set
With each of the Pubcast team selecting a “second” team for the season, there was one space remaining due to Dan not being available for the early shows this season. But he did what any self-respecting football fan should do and chose to support his local side.
That side is Barkingside FC, and Dan has already been in touch with the club, who have kindly given us a mention in their matchday programme.
And thanks to Enfield Town website The Cold End, we have been given a first glimpse of Barkingside in action.
Unfortunately, “Side” lost out to Stansted in their Essex Senior League Cup Group E match last Monday, but with another group match in the same competition coming up next Saturday against Buckingham Athletic, the team will have the perfect opportunity to bounce back.
Dan will keep us updated with his new team’s progress on the Football Pubcast throughout the season and hopefully we’ll be able to pay a visit to the Oakside Stadium to watch them in action at some point this season.
