There have been some audacious goals scored down the years. Antonin Panenka’s penalty, David Beckham’s chip from the halfway line, Paolo Di Canio’s scissor kick volley, we could go on.
But I’m not sure we’ve seen anything quite as cheeky as this effort from Dutch striker Ibrahim Afellay.
OK, it was only done in a training session, but he clearly knew what he was doing.
The big question is, would he ever have the audacity to try it in a competitive match?
