My Team of the Year: Dan Ferdinand

It’s been another exciting season of football, and each of the Pubcasters has been tasked with the job of sitting down and compiling their individual team of the season.
These may not necessarily include the greatest players in the world – more likely the selections will feature those players who have suitably impressed or entertained during the season, no doubt with a little bit of club bias thrown in for good measure.
First up with their selection. First up is Dan.
Rogerio Ceni – Scored his 100th goals this season, from a free-kick. Not many out-field players can do that.
Vincent Kompany – The defensive lynchpin for City and one of the best players in the Premier League this season.
Elizabeth Lambert – Well I needed to have some muscle in the back 3 so I had to go with this hard nut.
Gerard Pique – Sir Alex doesn’t often make mistakes when selling players, but Pique has had yet another fantastic season.
Leon Osman – One of the most underrated players in the Premier League.
Jack Wilshere – Young player of the year, what a full debut season for Jack. Now a starter for Arsenal and England, what a future he has.
Xavi – For me he is the most important player in the world. He makes the best team tick and gets the ball to the best player.
Adel Taarabt – What a season in the Champion Adel has had. Bombed out of Spurs he has lead QPR to the top of the Championship with his goals and flair, just never pass to him in your own half.
Cristano Ronaldo – The world’s most expensive player has played in 54 games and scored 44 goals this season, BOOM!
Danny Graham – Watford’s leading goalscorer has had a great season this year. The Hornets have a good young squad but Danny is by far their best player.
Lionel Messi – 48 games with 47 goals, what a record this young man has.
Gaffer: Paul Lambert – What a first season in the Championship. Norwich could still finish second in the league and Lambert has done a brilliant job after guiding the Canaries to promotion last season.
