Gunners’ own goal?

This week Arsenal have announced that they will raise their ticket prices by 6.5% next season.
Arsenal fans already pay the highest prices in the world and these raises are uncalled for.
In Arsenal’s statement they say that the increase is in line with inflation and the increase in VAT.
The club’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis told the club’s official website that they “…thought about this increase very carefully.”
But with a sixth season without a trophy and no big-name signing coming in fans will question this decision.
I do wonder how the long-term season ticket holders Will feel about this increase. Surely there could be a scheme that kept the price lower if you’ve had a season ticket for 10+ years.
It’s been said before but next season is the year that Arsenal need to win the Premier League. I don’t think Arsene Wenger will spend too much money in the transfer market so the young players will need to step up.
The return of Aaron Ramsey and Thomas Vermaelen next year should help, but Arsenal need a strong voice in the dressing room.
Arsenal are at a crossroads on and off the field – how the club moves forward this summer will be interesting to watch.
I’m predicting six teams fighting for the top four next year. But it’s the Premier League title that fans want to see.
