My Team of the Year: Stuart Hoare
Paddy Kenny: 24 clean sheets this season and only conceded 30 in 42 appearances. Need I say more?
Kyle Walker: Finished 2010 on loan at a Championship side top of the league and was a shining light in performances both home and away. Since January 2011 he has become a regular Premier League right back for Aston Villa. Mark my words there will have to be strong opposition to keep him out of the Spurs’ starting line up next season.
Vincent Kompany: Taking into account the money spent at Man City he should be on the scrap heap but his rock-like performances at the back this season make him a worthy addition to my team of the year.
Jose Fonte: Fonte has been pivotal in Southampton’s success this season. Scored some vital goals in their charge back to the Championship including the winner against eventual champions Brighton.
Leighton Baines: The 2010-2011 season for Baines has unquestionably been his greatest season for Everton. His amazing free kicks and his constant battling at the back make him a more than worthy inclusion in my team of the year.
Scott Sinclair: On his day he can light up the Championship. Just pipped to player of the year by someone who also made it into this team Sinclair’s contribution to Swansea’s league position is there for all to see. With 16 league goals and countless assists this season I reckon he’d walk into a good few bottom-half sides in the Premier League.
Scott Parker: You’ll struggle to find many who have given so much, for so little reward, this season. Parker would ideally compliment the more free-thinking players in this lineup. He has gone about his work brilliantly this season and has defined the phrase “one-man team”.
Adel Taarabt: Seen by many as a luxury player, on the 25th April 2011 Adel made his first slide tackle of the season tracking back 20 yards to win back the ball. Luxury player, I think not 
On a serious note he has has been QPR’s main attacking threat all season. He headed the assist charts with 16 and scored 18 in his first full season with the club. That equates to 34 of QPR’s 68 goals in the league this season. Not bad going.
Jack Wilshire: Since his loan spell at Bolton Wilshire has come on leaps and bounds and the 2010-2011 season has been a breakthrough season at Arsenal for the young England international. Inc ase you need any more reasons he won the PFA Young Player of the Year and played 44 times this season for Arsenal. At 19 years of age things can only get better for him.
Gareth Ainsworth: Has been given a new lease of life at Wycombe Wanderers. At 37 when he left QPR not many thought he would have gone on to make the impression he has since joining the Buckinghamshire club. Full of experience and showing no signs of slowing up, Ainsworth made the PFA League Two team of the year this season for his contribution on the pitch. He still has the ability to score the odd wonder goal from 30 yards as well.
David Villa: Since joining arguably the best group of players in the world Villa did not look out of place scoring 22 goals in his debut season at Barca and helped create 9 others. His pace and intelligent movement is a constant threat and worthy of a place in anyone’s team of the year.
