Samir Nasri Steps Up A Gear

Mr Nasri is having a tough time lately. Abject performances in a number of games have left the diminutive play-maker facing criticism from football fans from all corners. Now I’m sure the reported £175k weekly salary will soften the blow… but he still didn’t take to well to this spot of fan baiting last night.

Greater Manchester Police might also be interested in the midfielder’s sudden change of pace!

Epic photo of Henry last night. Even though I’m not a fan of Arsenal this is just amazing

    Return of the Manc

Our very own Northern correspondent Michael Coxon makes a very welcome return to the Pubcast this week.

To celebrate, and in an unprecedented move for this particular site, here’s some footage of Mike’s other sporting passion. It’s not football related but we think you’ll enjoy it all the same

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more

For any fan who has ever felt like giving up… read this post. Truly inspirational. If the Darlington players showed this level of passion I have a feeling the team would be higher than 13th in the league. Take a bow MKDarlo via darlofc.co.uk

    Life’s a Bitch for QPR

On this week’s show #63, available very soon for your listening pleasure, I mentioned my delight at watching the QPR v Sunderland game and seeing a dog celebrating in the away end. Sunderland’s big number canine Nicklas Bendtner certainly didn’t paws for thought and ran straight over to the travelling fans after settling what had become a bit of a dog of a game. I wasn’t drunk and here’s the woof…

    A film made on (De)merit

It plays like a Hollywood trailer; complete with corny voiceover and motivational soundtrack. And the subject of this new potential blockbuster… former Watford centre half Jay Demerit. Naturally

“Rise and Shine: The Jay DeMerit Story” is based on his rise from the lowest tier of football in England to the Premier League and 2010 World Cup. It’s available for just $19.95 so if one of our listeners wants to buy the Pubcast a late Xmas present let us know

Rumours of a feature film on David May have yet to be confirmed

RISE & SHINE – THE JAY DEMERIT STORY from D&E Entertainment on Vimeo.

I would definitely go and see a David May biopic.

I can see it now; Brad Pitt as May, Harrison Ford as Sir Alex, Tom Cruise as Chris Casper, it practically writes itself

The art of the Goal Kick – Esteban style

Last night AZ ‘keeper Esteban Alvarado was sent off after this amazing sequence of events in their game against Ajax. A 19-year-old Ajax fan came onto the pitch after 36mins and our man Esteban took matters immediately in to his own hands (or rather feet) before AZ manager Gertjan Verbeek ordered his players to leave the pitch in protest…
