    Pubcast #106: Bog-Standard

The boys were back flush with excitement at the morning’s news that yet another Chelsea manager’s career had gone down the drain – that and quality of the toilets in our local boozer. With Mike in the chair downing whisky like an alcoholic, the topics of conversation flowed from overhead kicks to Underhill tackles, via the surreal image of Arsene Wenger being led upstairs on a leash. Other issues this week included:

    • Norwich are mustard
    • James Beattie scores for Stanley
    • Eddie Howe Bourne again
    • Bayo Akinfenwa banging in the goals
    • Phil Brown’s Hart ache
    • Lee ‘The Tank’ Minshull

    • Snoop Dogg’s Bhoys N the Hood
    • Bruno Fernandes de Souza trial
    • Beckham to the Heart?
    • Champs League reviews and previews
    • @FFDU sponsor Gills left back Joe Martin
    • + lots more!

    Pubcast #103: Keeping It Clean

After a very eventful week in the footballing world and a Super Sunday with more talking points than you could shake a stick at, the boys headed down to Henry’s for the usual routine. This week saw a really good mix of chat, piss taking and serious debate between Dan, Jim, Sean and Jerome. There was also a very valuable lesson learnt today (as you can see from the show photo), that if any of the guys were ever thinking of soiling themselves, they wouldn’t be allowed in Henry’s! Good to know! Also on this week’s show:

    • Mark Clattenburg
    • Super Sunday
    • Luis Suarez – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Pubcast #100: Ninety-Nine More Than We Thought

This week saw the Football Pubcast reach a huge milestone, the 100th Episode! Who’d have thought that when Simon Head first recruited a band of misfits to chat about all things football, the show would come this far! A special mention has to go to all of the listeners who’ve given the boys a reason to keep recording every week (and given them an excuse to go to the pub)! On this week’s show there was not only a full squad out but also a cameo from the Godfather himself. After the initial centenary celebrations were over, the boys sat down to discuss the week’s football including; the England squad for the upcoming qualifiers, worst injuries in football, a surprise package from the guys at FFDU and much much more…..

    • Jim’s history lesson
    • Glossop North End

Pubcast #99: Should have gone to Dixons

Tune in to find out how long Dan and Mike spent discussing Utd vs Spurs (SPOILER ALERT: about 8 minutes) and whether or not Dan picked Spurs as his performance of the week (SPOILER ALERT: he did). Pubcast #96: JFT96

Today’s pubcast was recorded after David Cameron’s historic address to Parliament in the wake of the latest report into 1989’s tragic disaster at Hillsborough Stadium. We discuss some of the report’s findings, including evidence of a truly shocking and widespread cover-up, and pay tribute to the 96 innocent fans who lost their lives so needlessly on a Saturday afternoon at the football.

Whilst days like today put things into perspective, football carries on, and we wouldn’t be the Football Pubcast if we didn’t give the week’s on and off-field action a passing mention. Amongst the other topics covered were:

    • World Cup Qualifying including wins for Jamaica and Colombia
    • Some other games involving home nations
    • Steven Fletcher’s Scottish exile
    • “Hilarious” Chris Coleman quotes
    • Papiss Cisse wondergoal
    • Football league round-up
    • ‘Arry Redknapp back to Bournemouth
    • Del Piero to Sydney FC
    • Nobby Solano’s trumpet
    • Jim’s love for Steve Evans, and the latter’s 6 match STADIUM ban
    • Hot Gossip about Dan’s Mum
    • Dan #learningtodescribebetter
    • Jens Lehman’s Paralympic dreams
    • Some very, very naughty boys
    • Richard Kingson’s naughty wife
    • New iTunes review & shout outs
    • And much more quality “banter” from the “lads”
