With Coxon MIA this week many thought the Pubcast would fall to pieces. However up stepped Jim who took the reigns and hosted a great show and to be honest no one even realised Mike was missing! The Pubcasters headed to Henry’s to chat about the week’s football whilst basking in glorious sunshine. To say there was a “sight” or two to be held wandering around Canary Wharf was an understatement. There was a début from new Pubcaster “Gooner Chris” (as Jim quickly named him) who played the full 45 minutes and impressed his new team mates on his first appearance. It was the first round of the Premier League this weekend and with last week’s Internationals and all of the rest of the Football League there was loads to discuss, including Arsenal’s dismal start to the season (sorry Chris…………I’m not sorry).

With four out of the five lads hungover (on a Wednesday) and the other missing a tooth, there were sore heads all around at this week’s Pubcast. If anything was going to pick the guys up though, it was a couple of pints and some football chat. The boys were back flush with excitement at the morning’s news that yet another Chelsea manager’s career had gone down the drain – that and quality of the toilets in our local boozer. With Mike in the chair downing whisky like an alcoholic, the topics of conversation flowed from overhead kicks to Underhill tackles, via the surreal image of Arsene Wenger being led upstairs on a leash. Other issues this week included:
• Chelsea manager speculation – Abu Hamza to the Bridge?
• Norwich are mustard
• James Beattie scores for Stanley
• Eddie Howe Bourne again
• Bayo Akinfenwa banging in the goals
• Phil Brown’s Hart ache
• Lee ‘The Tank’ Minshull
• Gazza conflict in the Middle East
• A bad review!
• Some good reviews
• Raheim Sterling in trouble again
• Bad boy Bassong
• Luke McCormick to Truro
• Snoop Dogg’s Bhoys N the Hood
• Bruno Fernandes de Souza trial
• Beckham to the Heart?
• Champs League reviews and previews
• @FFDU sponsor Gills left back Joe Martin
• + lots more!
Yesterday our friends @FFDU decided to record their own Pubcast during the Celtic v Barcelona game. Also present was the Australian Celtic Supporters Club. As you can imagine it all got a bit lively as the game progressed!

Now this is a bargain. According to the official site these are “Great for use at home or for starting banter at work.” Probably not the kind of banter any Spurs would enjoy…
Here’s the link for you to forward to any Sours supporting friends to “start some banter”

This weeks show was held in the immediate aftermath of Roy Hodgson’s Euro2012 England squad announcement – in fact we started recording just seconds after the official statement had been made! Expect some frank opinions from your Pubcast regulars as they give us their initial reactions in a familiarly impetuous manner. There’s also a guest appearance* from none other than Sam Allardyce and his vertically challenged entourage.
If that wasn’t enough the gang also look back at the culmination of an action packed Premier League season and ahead to the Champions League final.
N.B. *for appearance please read “he walked past the pub”

Here’s the footage that’s got Benfica manager Jorge Jesus irate ahead of tonight’s Quarter Final clash with Chelsea. As the Blues players gathered to watch the initial draw take place, the loveable Mr Drogba appeared to mock the opposition by “acting” scared. He could get an interesting reception from the home fans this evening after this…
