Never mind the Tyne & Wear derby…
…this was the best goal scored by a Jordi all weekend. Shame it was in his own net.
If you haven’t seen this already, you really need to. Poor old Michel Alves of Brazilian Serie B side Criciuma makes a routine save… And then does this.
Stand down, that man.
Good news! Football is still happening, somewhere in the world! And that means footballers are still doing stupid things, like scoring 30 yard own goals.
Evgen Eleev – take a bow, son.
It’s a couple of weeks old now but here’s a classic from a recent friendly between Maccabi Haifa and Dynamo Kiev…
This could well be the greatest own goal ever scored. Yes, really.
In terms of difficulty, angle, positioning of the keeper, the speed of the ball when it came to him, this own goal really is right up there with the very best of all time.
It’s from the Hong Kong first division match between Sun Hei SC and Citizen Hong Kong, it’s a backwards “Scorpion Kick” volley and it’s unsaveable.
Watch it, gasp, then watch it again.
Thanks to our friends at @twounfortunates for bringing this to our attention.
