We made it – another milestone(ish)! After last week’s “not a proper show”, Mike returned to join Dan, Andy and Chris in celebrating the big event. There was the return of the “Pubcast Game Show”, plenty of talk about nonsense, arguments and even a little bit of football. Plus a new iTunes review and a thanks to our listeners, hopefully you’ll all be with us for another 150!

It was a distracted, feisty show this week as Mike, Dan, Andy, Jerome and Chris attempted to talk about football but often found themselves distracted by pretty much everything else (including Chicken Kievs and bedtime attire).
When they did manage to focus on the beautiful game there was a heated argument about Jack Wilshere and nationality rules, reviews of the key incidents from last weekend and plenty more!
Mike, Dan and Chris got together this week to debate the increasingly improving Arsenal, the turgidly dull Chelsea and whether United are better than Spurs.
In an epic 50 minute show the lads also covered a whole gamut of stuff – sexism, streaking, protesters, salacious gossip and a football legend. Plus TWO trivia questions and some cracking listener insights.
This week’s show can only be described as one of the best in Pubcast history!
Not only did Mike return (boo!) and make a somewhat mixed attempt at continuing the game show theme from last week’s show but he also introduced an utterly fantastic “game show host” jacket. Of course, Jim took it upon himself to adopt said jacket (and see the show picture, its hideous).
But further to that the boys (Mike, Jim, Dan, Chris and a late arriving Andy) had a rollicking good time arguing about how good Arsenal are, how embarrassing United were, deadline day, Hastings, the Heart, the Football Blogging Awards and a load more stuff. Definitely not a show to be missed!
With Coxon MIA this week many thought the Pubcast would fall to pieces. However up stepped Jim who took the reigns and hosted a great show and to be honest no one even realised Mike was missing! The Pubcasters headed to Henry’s to chat about the week’s football whilst basking in glorious sunshine. To say there was a “sight” or two to be held wandering around Canary Wharf was an understatement. There was a début from new Pubcaster “Gooner Chris” (as Jim quickly named him) who played the full 45 minutes and impressed his new team mates on his first appearance. It was the first round of the Premier League this weekend and with last week’s Internationals and all of the rest of the Football League there was loads to discuss, including Arsenal’s dismal start to the season (sorry Chris…………I’m not sorry).
The boys descended upon Henry’s this week with a new Pubcaster in their ranks. The good news is he’s a knowledgeable, likeable chap who follows his team home and away. The bad news is he’s another Spurs fan…don’t let that put you off though!
Alex (he has a name) joined Mike, Dan, Andy and Jerome to have a look at the start of the new season in the Football League and Europe, discuss the incredibly boring transfer sagas that continue to roll on and marvel at Mario Balotelli’s piano skills.
There was also time to marvel at the Heart’s impressive pre-season form, a couple of naughty boys and a new adopted team! Definitely a show not to be missed, also listen out early next week for some Extra Time as Mike (and some real United fans) go to Wembley for the over-blown friendly at the weekend…

The lads were excited this week as they re-convened ahead of the new season to give their annual pre-season predictions. Looking at the leagues from the Conference up the boys (Mike, Dan, Jim and Andy) gave their views on who’ll succeed, who’ll fail, who’ll surprise and how they think their own clubs will fare (don’t worry, there wasn’t too much Bale chat).
On top of that there was the usual skewed look at transfer news, pre-season results, funny stories and a (sort of) apology to Celtic fans.
